Iga Swiatek proudly represents WTA Tour during El Clasico, cheers for compatriot Robert Lewandowski

Several esteemed figures from the tennis community attended the La Liga match between Real Madrid and Barcelona on Sunday evening. While Naomi Osaka, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal appeared to support Carlo Ancelotti’s team, Iga Swiatek cheered for Barcelona striker and Polish compatriot Robert Lewandowski.

With the 2024 Barcelona Open (for ATP) and the 2024 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix (for WTA) just over and the main draw of the Mutua Madrid Open not starting until Wednesday, the players had some free time in their busy schedules. Iga Swiatek and other personalities from the tennis world decided to spend that time attending the El Classico.

Swiatek and Lewandowski are perhaps two of the greatest athletes Poland has ever produced. Over the course of their careers, these two have cheered and expressed their admiration for each other. Just two years before Swiatek headed to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to support him, the Barca forward sat next to the youngster’s team box as she won the 2022 French Open.

In addition to the four-time Grand Slam winner, Naomi Osaka, another player from the WTA Tour, was present in Madrid. As seen on social media, Osaka was seen cheering for the La Liga champions and was also clicked with Real Madrid’s injured goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

From the ATP Tour, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz were spotted together during the exciting match.

While Novak Djokovic was spotted with NFL legend Tom Brady.

In just a day, each of these players (except Djokovic) will begin their battle at the 2024 Madrid Open at La Caja Mágica, hoping to win the “Tyche“.
