Munawar Zaman

The general elections in India are in full swing and represent an important democratic electoral exercise. More than 200 million Muslims see these elections as a turning point for the country’s democracy, as they have seen an unprecedented rise in violence after the BJP came to power in 2014. Many say they want to vote for communal harmony, educational opportunities and employment.
