The day was sponsored by several community businesses, with hands-on activities from area nonprofits, UW-Green Bay clubs, local museums and other local organizations.

“We have about 40 different activities around the building. Hopefully we get kids interested in science, technology, engineering and math,” said Elizabeth Mayenschein of the Einstein Project at the event.

“For more than three decades, the Einstein Project has provided leadership in transformational change in STEM education in Wisconsin. Our support for teachers and schools starts with high-quality, practice-oriented instructional materials,” according to the group’s website.

“We provide science kits to teachers in their classrooms to help them incorporate science into the classroom so that children get interested in it,” Mayenschein added.

The event gave both children and adults the opportunity to immerse themselves in hands-on STEM activities.

Events like these not only inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators, but also strengthen the community’s commitment to advancing STEM education and advancing curiosity-driven learning.
