Kathy Burke reaches out to Ant and Dec after being left ‘very angry’ by I’m a Celebrity

Kathy Burke has explained that she was recently “very angry” with TV presenters Ant and Dec.

The actor, whose credits include Give me give me give me And Kevin & Perry are going bigspoke out against Takeaway on Saturday evening presents duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly as they reflect on the latest batch of ITV reality series I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here!airs in December 2023.

In her podcast, Burke expressed her disappointment with the pair for not saying anything when ITV brought in Nigel Farage as a contestant on the reality series – a decision that led Burke and many viewers to boycott the show.

Burke’s newest guest on her podcast Where there’s a will, there’s a wake was comedian Seann Walsh, who performed alongside the former UKIP and Brexit party leader I’m a celebrity. Burke told him: “I didn’t see this year’s film because Farage was in it.”

When Walsh replied, “Good for you,” Burke added, “Well, it was a step too far. I just thought, you fucking bastards. And I was really angry with Ant and Dec. They’re of Irish descent, man!

She continued: “And I also think it was really unfair to the rest of you, to the other contestants.”

During Farage’s time on the show he clashed with First dates star Freid Sirieix, who became furious with the former after a conversation about the environment. Sirieix also confronted Farage about what he described as an “embarrassing” Brexit poster from 2016, depicting a line of desperate refugees trying to reach Europe under the headline “Breaking Point.”

Walsh, who said he had “never been afraid of anything else in my life” before going into it I’m a celebritysaid he felt strange when his campmates, including Farage, talked about “really big moral issues” because it “shouldn’t be on a light evening show that the kids are watching.”

Burke then asked Walsh if he was “relieved” because he thought he might “not be the most hated person” on the show. The comedian said: “That’s it. All I can think is: I hope I don’t get out of this and it’s just like last time. But actually I had a great experience and really enjoyed it.”

The “last time” Walsh was referring to was his controversial performance Come strictly dance in 2018, which resulted in a scandal. Walsh was caught kissing his professional dance partner Katya Jones during a night out in London, and the pair issued an apology, calling it a ‘drunken’ mistake.
