Dafinone commends Tinubu, soldier, for the release of the Delta monarch

Ede Dafinone, the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has expressed his sincere gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the Chief of Defense Staff and the Chief of Army Staff for their instrumental role in securing the release of His Royal Majesty, King Clement Ikolo . Urhukpe 1, the monarch of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of ​​Delta State.

Following the harrowing incident in Okuama that led to the detention of King Clemens Ikolo, Senator Ede Dafinone has worked tirelessly with the relevant authorities to ensure the monarch’s release.

The Delta Central lawmaker in collaboration with his colleagues, Senators Ned Nwoko (Delta North) and Joel Onowakpo-Thomas (Delta South) have been in contact with military authorities to ensure the monarch’s release.

Following their intervention, the monarch was released by the military authority at Defense Headquarters to Senator Ede Dafinone at about 11 a.m., with the understanding that the senator would make the king available should his attention be needed.

“Today, I commend the swift and decisive actions taken by President Bola Tinubu and the Chief of Defense Staff in addressing this issue with the urgency and seriousness it deserved.

In his statement, Senator Dafinone noted: “The release of His Royal Majesty, King Clement Ikolo, Urhukpe 1, brings a sense of relief and reassurance to our community. I am deeply grateful to Mr. President, the Chief of Defense Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, the Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja and the entire military leadership for their continued commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring safety and well-being of all citizens.

“I would also like to thank on behalf of the Urhobo nation my fellow Senators from Delta North, Senator Ned Nwoko and Delta South, Senator Joel Onowakpo-Thomas for their invaluable contributions towards the release of our dear King.

“As a staunch advocate for justice and accountability, I pledge my continued support to the efforts aimed at uncovering the truth behind the unfortunate incident and bringing the perpetrators to justice.”
