Sofia Vergara sold her Beverly Hills House worth $13 million

After a long slog in the market, Sofia Vergara has finally managed to unload her white elephant from Beverly Hills. The 11,000-square-foot Mediterranean villa-style mansion was first listed in June 2022 with an asking price of nearly $20 million. Ultimately, the price tag was reduced to $14 million. The new owners, who closed on the house yesterday, paid an even lower $13.7 million.

For now, the discount-conscious shoppers remain unnamed, but they are reportedly not famous. And of course, it’s worth noting that $13.7 million is still a very large sum of money – and a hefty $3.1 million more than what Vergara himself paid for the house a decade ago.

Although Vergara’s just-sold home is hidden behind gates and a huge hedge out front, it’s actually quite close to a fairly busy street in the Benedict Canyon area.

During her 10 years of ownership, Vergara gave the 2006-built building a contemporary interior makeover under the supervision of designer Jennifer Bevan. Hidden behind gates and a striking overgrown hedge, the creamy beige home is described in the listing as “sophisticated and romantic,” and features seven bedrooms, all equipped with their own full bathroom.

Inside, highlights include a double-height foyer and a striking curved staircase, which flows into formal living and dining rooms. The family room has French doors to the outside and is adjacent to a sleekly designed gourmet kitchen, equipped with a large center island, high-end Viking appliances and a breakfast nook.

The bedrooms feature a primary retreat on the upper level with dual closets and spa-inspired baths, while the lower level is ready for entertaining with a large wet bar, a 3,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room, a 10-seat movie theater and a fitness room with private sauna. Outside, the steeply sloping backyard is not particularly large, but there is a beautiful lawn, privacy hedges and mature trees. There is also a swimming pool and several areas for outdoor lounging and dining.

Vergara, who shared this home with former husband Joe Manganiello, long ago moved to a 17,000-square-foot mansion just up the hill, in the gated community of Beverly Park. She bought that house — essentially a much larger and grander version of this one — in 2020 and paid $26 million for it.

The Colombian-born actress and model, probably best known for her eleven seasons as Gloria on the TV series Modern familyranked as the highest-paid television actress for many years. Today, her personal wealth is reportedly $180 million.
