Erik ten hag press conference live manager updates and manchester united injury latest

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will look ahead to Wednesday evening’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United at Old Trafford when he addresses the media in Carrington today.

After Sunday’s poor FA Cup semi-final victory over Coventry City at Wembley, United will be desperate to produce a much better performance against a very strong Blades. United have failed to win any of their last four league matches, last recording a three-pointer on March 9.

As a result, United will be desperate to get their league fixtures back on track after a period of stagnation. United also need to deliver a much better performance compared to the performances of recent weeks.

Amid a string of poor results and uninspiring performances, pressure is mounting on Ten Hag ahead of what promises to be a summer of change. Ten Hag will undoubtedly be questioned again today about his future.

He will also provide an update on United’s injury crisis. Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford were both forced off at Wembley on Sunday.

Ten Hag describes criticism of Coventry as ‘shame’

‘No. Absolutely not. You’ve earned enough and the question is: ‘is it embarrassing?’ No, your reaction was embarrassing. It’s the comments. Top football is all about results, we reached the final and we deserved it not only through this match, but also through the other matches. We lost control for twenty minutes, we were also unlucky, 3-2, 3-3. We were very lucky in the end, that’s for sure. The penalties were very good and we made it to the final, it’s a huge achievement. Twice, in two years, is wonderful. For me as a manager, four cup finals in four years. The reactions are a shame.”

OPINION: United could be forced to make a landmark decision as injuries mount

“With just two days to recover before Wednesday’s Premier League match against Sheffield United, there is a race against time for those three to prove their fitness, while Erik ten Hag hopes some of his dozens of victims can return for the club’s visit.” Blades Willy Kambwala, Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount were all on the injured list last week. Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw remain out for long periods and Anthony Martial is unlikely to play again before his contract expires.

United’s disappointing league form

United have not won in the Premier League since beating Everton 2-0 on March 9, meaning they head into tomorrow night’s game against Sheffield United winless in four league games.

To make matters worse, their win over Everton is their only league win in their last seven games. United simply need to beat bottom half of the table Blades, who conceded four at home to Burnley on Saturday.

Anything less than three points and a polished performance will be frowned upon. The prospect of not being able to beat Chris Wilder’s men will pose even tougher questions for Erik ten Hag to answer.

Kick-off time confirmed for FA Cup final

If you missed the announcement recently, next month’s FA Cup final between United and City at Wembley kicks off at 3pm.

The decision was made between clubs, local authorities, members of the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) and broadcasters. United advanced to the final on Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Coventry City on penalties, having previously taken a 3-0 lead.

Their reward is a second successive FA Cup final against their city rivals, who beat Chelsea 1-0 on Saturday.
