Santa Ana residents noticed a heavy police presence near South Lowell St. and Edinger this morning. We now know that the police were there because of a murder.

A roommate got into an argument and killed a man at a Santa Ana home early this morning. Police officers went to the home, in the 1500 block of South Lowell St., and discovered the suspect and victim had gotten into an argument before the struggle turned fatal, the SAPD said.

The identity of the male victim has not yet been released by the SAPD. Usually this means that his family must be informed first.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police officers arrested the suspect.

While police officers discovered that another person was in the home when the fatal attack occurred, it is not yet clear if that person was the one who called 911.

Police confirmed that no firearm was used in the murder. However, they are still looking for a possible murder weapon.

The police have not yet announced what circumstances led to the fatal argument. Their investigation is ongoing.
