González Olaechea stated that the decision to lift the visa requirement was made after an assessment showed that it could have a negative impact on tourism and subsequently on the Peruvian economy. In response to Mexico’s initial decision to introduce a visa requirement for Peruvian citizens, the Mexican government postponed the implementation of this policy until May 6. For Peruvian citizens who plan to visit Mexico and need a visa, there are specific requirements that must be met.
