Nicola Peltz explains why she skipped mother-in-law Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party after quashing feud rumors

Nicola Peltz revealed why she missed her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday party.

Brooklyn Beckham’s wife said on her Instagram Story on Saturday that she skipped the party to spend time with her grandmother.

She shared an adorable photo of herself cuddling the eldest – who was her maid of honor at her wedding to the former footballer – and wrote: ‘My world in my arms.’

A follow-up photo showed the Beckham clan – Victoria and David Beckham, 48, alongside their sons, Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 19, and 12-year-old daughter Harper – posing at the chic Spice Girl alumni party hosted at Oswald’s in London.

“Congratulations to my beautiful MIL @victoriabeckham. I’m so sad I’m not there to celebrate and hug you! Sending all my love from me and Naunni,” the 29-year-old Lola actress wrote.

While Peltz missed the festivities, other A-list celebrities, including Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise, Marc Anthony, Gordon Ramsay and Salma Hayek, had a night to remember.

The bash saw all five Spice Girls reunite for an impromptu performance of their 1997 single ‘Stop’.

A video shot by David showed Posh Spice alongside Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Melanie “Mel B” Brown performing their iconic dance moves.

While Peltz was absent from the fun, she made sure the fashion designer pinned a special birthday tribute to her actual birthday via Instagram last week.

Alongside a throwback photo with the “Wannabe” singer, the “Bates Motel” actress wrote on April 17: “Happy birthday to my beautiful mil @victoriabeckham I love you so much and love being your dance partner forever his 🩷🪩🎂.’

The two have reportedly not always been cozy, as they were rumored to have been feuding ahead of Peltz’s wedding to Brooklyn in April 2022.

“They can’t stand each other and aren’t talking,” an insider close to the family previously told Page Six. “The run-up to the wedding was terrible.”

The source added that Peltz reportedly did not want the pop star “to be any part of the planning, and she would not inform Victoria of anything. Communication was minimal.”

Rumors about their consequences increased when the bride-to-be decided to wear a wedding dress from Valentino instead of a special design from her mother-in-law.

However, Peltz shut down the rumblings in August 2022 during an interview with Variety, saying, “I went and I really wanted to (wear a Victoria design), and a few months later she realized her studio couldn’t do that.” I didn’t do it, so then I had to choose another dress.”

“She didn’t say, ‘You can’t wear it;’ I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with it,” she said, referring to headlines about their alleged breakup.

Brooklyn also denied the rumors between his wife and mother at the time.

“I learned that they will always try to write things like this,” he told the outlet. They will always try to put people down. But everyone gets along, and that’s good.”
