Korea has donated an advanced medical imaging analysis system to a military hospital in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to help improve healthcare, the Defense Ministry said Monday.

The artificial intelligence (AI)-powered medical image analysis system, jointly developed by the Ministries of Defense and ICT between 2020 and 2023, has been deployed in Korean military hospitals and division-level medical units.

The ministry said it has donated the X-ray equipment and AI image analysis system to Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi and provided access to use its software to expand bilateral cooperation in the medical sector.

It marks the third installation of the Korean military’s AI medical image analysis system abroad, following installations in hospitals in Uzbekistan and the Philippines last year. (Yonhap)
