Record-breaking edition of the Arab Travel Market opens today

This week it’s the 31stst edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the premier global event for the travel and tourism industry, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The annual trade fair, which takes place from May 6 to 9, is expected to attract more than 41,000 visitors and include 2,300 exhibitions from 165 countries.

The theme of this year’s ATM is ‘Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel through Entrepreneurship’, which highlights the crucial role that start-ups and entrepreneurs will play in shaping the direction of the industry. This focus will provide global policymakers and industry leaders with a platform that enables the travel and tourism sector to leverage entrepreneurship and identify development prospects.

More than 200 leading speakers from the Global Stage and the new Future Stage will present more than 50 educational sessions during the four-day conference programme. Dubai’s tourism objectives and strategies for the coming years will be outlined in the keynote speech “Global Stage Welcome: The Gateway to Global Insights”, which will be delivered by HE Issam Abdulrahim Kazim, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing. At the Ministerial Debate: Streamlining Tourism within the GCC later today, ministers from the GCC and beyond will take the stage to discuss the essential tactics used to promote and expand tourism in the region.

Speaking ahead of the launch day, Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market, said: “After the unprecedented success of our 30e edition in 2023, exhibitor participation has increased by a whopping 26% this year, increasing ATM’s reputation as an unmissable event for the global travel and tourism community and providing unparalleled business and networking opportunities for attendees and exhibitors across a wide range of travel sectors and industries.”

Building on the main theme of the 2023 fair and adhering to the 30 long-term sustainability goals, ATM maintains its commitment to sustainability for another year. On May 9, the Sustainability Summit will delve deeper into the topics of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, consumer preferences and the collaborative efforts needed to create a more sustainable travel and tourism landscape. The exhibitor who has made exceptional efforts to reduce the ecological footprint of its stand has now been recognized with the Sustainable Stand Award.
