Faculty of Medicine of the University of Malaga will build a new classroom amid the economic crisis

At a time of financial crisis and budget cuts at the University of Malaga, the Faculty of Medicine has received positive news. Despite the university’s significant debt of more than 28 million euros, the Faculty of Medicine has been ‘saved’ from budget cuts and can build a new classroom to accommodate the recent increase in the number of new students.

The University of Malaga has announced a tender for the preparation of projects, studies and construction management for the new classroom. The project is estimated to cost approximately 120,516 euros and will not incur any costs for the university. The funding for the new classroom comes from an increase in student places, with commitments from the Ministries of Health and Universities to fund these placements.

The new classroom will be a three-story building with flexible space for up to 200 students per floor. The Dean of Medicine, Pablo Lara, explains that the classrooms will be equipped with audiovisual technology and internet connections to enable advanced teaching methods. The increase in the number of student places at medical faculties across Spain is part of a government initiative to meet the growing demand for medical education.

Overall, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Malaga is moving forward with plans for a new classroom thanks to external funding and a commitment to meeting the educational needs of future healthcare professionals.
