Highways in BC: Coquihalla could see snow, says Environment Canada

Snow is expected at high elevations on Highway 5 between Hope and Merritt through Monday morning.

A special weather statement was issued Sunday by Environment and Climate Change Canada, saying there is “potential for flurries” due to a frontal system in the Pacific Ocean approaching the southern coast.

“Snow showers are expected but will vary depending on location. The weather in the mountains can change suddenly, which can lead to dangerous driving conditions,” the weather bureau said.

There is also a special weather advisory for Highway 3 – Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass and Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.
