1930-2024
After a brief illness, Mary Jean Ladouceur of Perth-Andover, NB,
passed away peacefully at the Victoria Glen Manor on the evening of
May 4, 2024.
Jean was born December 27, 1930 in Cornwall, ON. She was the
daughter of the late Donald and Josephine (Bergeron) Lalonde. She was
Married to the late Edwin Ladouceur for 67 years; mother of Judy Smy
of Ottawa, ON, John Ladouceur (Beverly) of Prince Albert, SK, Cathy
London (Gerald) from Perth-Andover, NB; grandmother of John Ladouceur
Jr. (Tammy) van Prins Albert, SK, Sarah Smy (Peter) van Aylmer, QC, Amy
Chin (Sheldon) from Saskatoon, SK, Jacob Sullivan (Hannah) Fredericton,
NB, Katlyn Sullivan (Luc) of Gatineau, QC; great-grandmother of
Baeddan, Adrian, Keiran, Tristan, Aurora and Everlee. Jean was the
last surviving member of her immediate family.
Jean was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Edwin Ladouceur; her
sisters, Irene, Bernadette, Vivian, May, Theresa, Florence,
Marguerite, Helen and Elsie; her brothers, Lloyd, Arnold and
Albert.
Jean was born in Cornwall, ON, and grew up in Summerstown, ON. Jean was
a loyal and faithful wife and wonderful mother and grandmother. She
was full of energy. Her life was filled with raising her family and
grandchildren. Jean enjoyed bingo, cards and flower gardening. She
was creative and artistic, making and selling unique dolls and crafts
over the years.
She and her husband moved to Red Rapids, NB, where life was in 1991
enjoyed with family and friends. She will be greatly missed and will continue to be so
will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
A special thank you to the staff at Victoria Glen Manor for their
wonderful care and kindness given to Jean.
In respect of Mary Jean’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.
The funeral will take place in the family circle at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery,
Red Rapids, NB, at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Victoria Glen Manor
The Making a Difference Foundation or the Food Bank is appreciated
the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
