Fake visa travelers were unloaded from a European flight in Karachi

KARACHI: The Immigration Department of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday offloaded a couple who were traveling abroad with fake documents from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, ARY News reported.

The FIA ​​spokesperson claimed that two passengers, Talat Iqbal and his wife, attempted to travel to Europe on flight number TK-709 on fake British employment visas.

According to preliminary investigation, the accused couple obtained the said visas from the agent in Lahore for a total amount of ₹2,400.

The FIA ​​spokesperson revealed that the agent received the said amount in different bank accounts to avoid the unnecessary attention of the authorities.

While further investigation is underway, the suspects were later transferred to Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further legal action.

Earlier this week, FIA Immigration arrested two passengers who attempted to travel abroad from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore with fake documents.

The FIA ​​Immigration spokesperson confirmed the arrest of two passengers, identified as Ishban Murad and Ameer Hamza, along with two officers, Anwar and Yousuf Baig, who were allegedly involved in issuing fake Mauritius employment visas and fake residence permits to the arrested passengers.

The spokesperson added that the accused Ashban Murad was arrested at the immigration counter while boarding flight TK715 bound for abroad. However, it was discovered that his Mauritius passport was fake and bore a false stamp.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Murad had obtained the visa through an agent, Yousuf Baig, for Rs 2 million. Meanwhile, the officer was arrested at the airport premises after identifying the passenger.

FIA Faisalabad and Gujranwala have also filed cases against the officer.

In a similar operation, passenger Amir Hamza was detained while trying to board flight PA-410 to Dubai.

Suspicions arose which led to a search of his belongings, resulting in the discovery of a fake Italian passport with fake stamps, along with a fake Spanish resident card.

Both the accused were then transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore for further legal proceedings.
