Police are investigating the alleged death of a man by a police officer in Lagos

Police in Lagos State said they have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of one Anosikwa Patrick who was allegedly stabbed by a police officer.

The spokesperson of the Police Command in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos.

Hundeyin said the incident took place on Saturday at Skymall Mall in Ajah area of ​​the state.

According to him, justice will be served as the command has initiated an investigation.

“The mall’s manager and chief security officer are already in custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation.

“Meanwhile, the police officer has been identified as Inspr Taofeek, a member of the visiting 12 PMF Squadron to Lagos,” Hundeyin said.

He said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Adegoke Fayoade, had directed detectives from the Homicide Division of the State Criminal Investigation Department to ensure speedy and diligent investigation to ensure that the perpetrator was brought to justice.

“The public will be kept informed of the investigation as it progresses,” the spokesperson said.
