KCCI and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry sign MoU

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the KCCI office in Srinagar. The MOU was signed at the special executive meeting of the office bearers of KCCI and SGCCI in the presence of Commissioner Industries and Commerce, Mr. Vikramjit Singh, the chief guest. The Director Handicrafts, Kashmir, Mr. Mehmood Ahmad Shah was also present on the occasion.
The MOU was signed by President KCCI Javid Ahmad Tenga and SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia on behalf of their respective chambers.
The MOU provides for mutual cooperation in the areas of promoting trade activities, exchange of trade delegations/participation in trade fairs/exhibitions. Both chambers ensure effective consultation, cooperation and exchange of information on trade:
Both Houses will jointly organize/hold conferences/meetings/seminars/workshops/presentations for their members to enhance trade and explore new trade opportunities;
Both Chambers will work together in the best possible manner so that trade can grow and prosper with the required interventions and coordination. Likewise, both parties will carry out their respective responsibilities with due care and in a professional manner;
Both Chambers exchange information on the economy, trade, publications, trade regulations, industrialization, economic legislation and business practices adopted in their Chambers. Where appropriate, both parties can provide the best cooperation and support to achieve the objectives.
Both chambers provide mutual support to encourage their members to participate in various business events/international business exhibitions. Both chambers will assist in visits of commercial and economic delegations between both chambers, allowing their counterparts to establish the best business contacts and inform each other about national and international fairs/exhibitions etc.
Both Chambers agree to operationalize chamber-to-chamber activities/meaningful contacts to promote trade.
To this extent, the SGCCI chairman emphasized the importance of signing an MOU between two chambers. Under GLOBAL CONNECT MISSION 84, it will open the door for KCCI to connect with Scientist Sheep Breeders Meet, held at SKUAST-K84 Chamber of Commerce of India and 84 chambers of commerce abroad, 84,000 entrepreneurs in India and 84,000 entrepreneurs abroad; 84 embassies in India and 84 embassies of foreign nations in India. The KCCI President stated that with the signing of the MOU, KCCI members, stakeholders of Kashmir Handicrafts, trade, commerce, industry, horticulture, tourism, services, education and healthcare will get a major boost.
The Chief Guest, Commissioner Industries & Commerce, Mr. Vikramjit Singh, congratulated the Presidents of two Chambers of Commerce on the signing of the MOU, which will prove historic as it will provide immense opportunities to corporates, women entrepreneurs, artisans, weavers and start-ups ups in Kashmir. etc.
Secretary General Faiz Bakshi led the MOU ceremony and delivered a vote of thanks.
