Bahrain Bourse has been named the Best Arab Scholarship for Financial Literacy at the annual AFCM conference

Doha, May. 4 (BNA): Bahrain Bourse (BHB), a licensed exchange of the Central Bank of Bahrain, has been awarded the Best Arab Stock Exchange for Financial Literacy Award by The Global Economics from the Arab Federation of Capital Markets (AFCM).

The announcement was made during the AFCM Annual Conference: Qatar 2024, held on April 29 – 30 in Doha, Qatar.

The AFCM Annual Conference: Qatar 2024 was organized by the Qatar Stock Exchange and featured a diverse line-up of panelists who shed light on key capital market topics that aim to address the challenges and opportunities facing the Arab capital markets including: sustainability, climate change, race to zero, investor relations (IR), Islamic capital markets, FinTech and other related topics.

This recognition comes in addition to Bahrain Bourse’s participation as a key panelist at the AFCM Annual Conference: Qatar 2024, which took place from April 29 to 30 and covered topics related to national sustainability visions, post-trade settlement cycles and the global revolution in investor relations.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized as the Best Arab Exchange for Financial Literacy 2024. At the Bahrain Exchange, we recognize the transformative power of financial literacy as part of SDG Goal 4 as it is a key pillar in our ESG framework and plays an important overarching role in shaping more resilient and empowered communities. This award reaffirms our deep commitment to continue championing financial literacy initiatives, and we look forward to continuing our efforts on this front.” This was said by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, CEO of the Bahrain Bourse, after BHB’s victory.

The recognition reflects Bahrain Bourse’s continued commitment to promoting financial literacy, supported by its various initiatives and partnerships aimed at increasing financial awareness and promoting responsible investing.

One of the notable initiatives contributing to this award is Bahrain Bourse’s active participation in the World Federation of Exchanges’ annual ‘Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy’ campaign.

At this year’s edition, BHB also announced a Board Mentorship Program in partnership with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).

The primary goal of the program is to develop board-ready candidates through a specialized training program that equips participants with the essential skills and acumen essential for leadership roles within boards of directors.
