Esports program iSports teaches children competitive gaming

As the saying goes, start ’em young! The iSports esports program helps kids achieve a better future in gaming!

A new esports learning program aimed at kids is coming to iCode. iSports is a program designed to help children better understand the world of competitive esports. With the number of young gamers in this generation having increased significantly, iCode wants to educate these children and ensure that they play in a safe environment.

That said, here’s everything you need to know about iSports.

iSports: launch date

According to the official press release, iCode plans to launch iSports June 3, 2024. The program lasts 12 weeks and uses the popular Battle Royale Fortnite. The esports program is designed to teach 8-13 year olds.

Since Fortnite is more popular with children, it makes sense that the program includes the BR. It’s also worth noting that iCode will have a generated in-game map specific to iSports. The design of the card was intended to allow children to play in a safe and controlled environment.

During the twelve-week program, one hour is spent developing gameplay skills. Expert coaches guide the children during these sessions. To make things even more interesting, iCode hosts a tournament that resembles a championship-level competition. The winner of the program will be recognized as the best gamer in the program.

What is the purpose of iSports?

iCode CEO Abid Abedi discussed why children would benefit from the esports program. Abedi said the program will undoubtedly be a great summer activity for them. He also said it would be the perfect immersion for them to learn what competitive gaming is all about.

In addition to educating the children, their goal is to teach life skills such as sportsmanship and teamwork. Considering how kids tend to mimic what they see from adult streamers, iSports wants to rid them of the toxic traits and habits they’ve picked up.

“iSports will serve as a great summer activity for kids to get out of the house, but the overall goal is to promote personal development through the many dynamic skills that competitive gaming requires,” said Abid Abedi. “The iSports program places a strong emphasis on developing important life skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork and strategic thinking. It ensures that participants stay engaged and learning while school is out, and parents can trust that their children are playing in a controlled environment.”

If we are completely honest, Abid Abedi and his team have brilliantly come up with an alternative to keeping children in school. Traditional education usually feels like a prison for children. However, with iCode’s summer program, this could be a perfect method to keep children engaged in learning.
