At least five rockets have reportedly been launched from Iraq towards a US base in Syria, causing explosions to be heard in the area and casualties feared.

Sources in the area have described how explosions were heard near the US military base in Al-Omar field, east of Deir Ezzor. It comes after last week’s tensions between Iran and Israel, with the former carrying out a “retaliatory attack” with drones and missiles late at night.
