Food Lion expands home delivery to seven new US states

Ahold Delhaize USA’s omnichannel retailer Food Lion has announced an expansion of its online grocery delivery service, now reaching customers in seven additional US states.

The measure should make grocery shopping easier for residents of Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia.

The service, powered by Instacart, allows customers to order fresh produce and groceries from home through the Food Lion website or app.

Food Lion is waiving delivery fees for the first order of $35 or more.

The expansion means Food Lion To Go Pickup or Home Delivery is now available in more than 90% of the retailer’s ten-state footprint.

Food Lion’s new service, in partnership with Instacart, will provide a seamless online shopping experience with one-hour delivery time.
