Basketball camps for kids planned in June at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University men’s basketball program will host two youth camps in June.

A day camp will be held from June 10 to 13 for boys and girls in groups 2 to 8. Camp opening hours are from 9am to 3pm every day

The coast of that camp is $235.

A “Little Cardinals” camp for boys and girls ages 4 to 8 will be held on June 14 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The cost of that camp is $50.

The camps are held at Ball State’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

Meridian will provide services at the Muncie Crisis Center

MUNCIE, Ind. – Meridian Health Services will provide staff and services at the Muncie Crisis Center, now under construction at Hoyt Avenue and Eighth Street.

The center will provide “mental health and addiction services” to those in need, according to a news release issued Tuesday from Mayor Dan Ridenour’s administration.

IU Health has been “an integral partner in the planning and development of the center,” the release said.

“This will be a welcome resource to help meet a community need in Muncie,” Mike Patrick of Behavioral Health Services at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital said in the release. “We are excited to partner with both Meridian and Muncie to collaborate on this project.”

Seth Warren, president and CEO of Meridian Health Services, said, “We look forward to working with the City of Muncie and IU Health to help meet the mental health needs in our community.”

The crisis center is expected to open this summer.

Tillotson, Riverside intersection reopens

MUNCIE, Ind. – Indiana Michigan Power crews are completing underground construction of power lines that will allow for the reopening of the intersection of Tillotson and Riverside Avenue.

As of Thursday, crews planned to adjust traffic patterns to reopen the intersection.

Tillotson Avenue will remain limited to one lane in each direction between Riverside and Petty Road.

There are no turn restrictions at the intersection of Tillotson and Riverside.

These road conditions are expected to continue throughout the month of May.
