ONGC is gearing up for a new geothermal drilling initiative in Ladakh to harness zero-emission energy sources. The project has the potential to provide electricity, heating and irrigation in the challenging landscapes of Ladakh. Drilling is scheduled to begin in June and the goal is to complete two wells of 1,000 meters each by September. Its successful completion could pave the way for a 1 MW power plant to be operational next year.
