Trio arrested for thefts at Carson Valley Plaza

A trio of alleged shoplifters were arrested April 26 after Douglas County deputies responded to the Boot Barn in Carson Valley Plaza for a theft in progress.

Dispatch broadcast the description of the trio fleeing the location in a white Chevrolet SUV. Area officers stopped the vehicle.

Arrested were Azura Ridley, Jose Trujillo-Gutierrez and Sol Garcia-Hernandez on suspicion of theft.

During their investigation, officers determined that Ridley, Trujillo-Gutierrez and Garcia-Hernandez worked together to steal numerous items from Boot Barn and ran from the store. Officers recovered more than $500 worth of goods stolen from Boot Barn and around $1,000 worth of cosmetics that were undeclared from other Topsy Lane stores.

The trio was booked into the Douglas County Jail for theft under $1,200 and conspiracy to commit a crime.

All three are residents of Reno or Sparks and appeared in East Fork Justice Court on April 27 and were released on their own recognizance with a court date of May 20.

The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information about this case, please contact Deputy Erik Eissinger at 775-782-5126, or via email at [email protected] reference DCSO 24SO10842.
