Three arrested, 7 citations issued at DUI Checkpoint in Chula Vista

Three people were arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Chula Vista, authorities said Sunday.

The checkpoint was conducted Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight in the 1500 block of East H Street. According to Chula Vista police, a total of 2,532 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 519 motorists stopped for secondary evaluations.

Seven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a license, four drivers were asked to perform sobriety tests, two were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and another driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of marijuana , officials said.
