Gettysburg entrepreneur and veteran Tim Rymer dies in motorcycle accident

Tim Rymer, 60, of Newberry Township, was killed in a motorcycle accident on April 28, 2024, at the intersection of Old York and Blair Hollow roads in Carroll Township. He suffered fatal injuries after hitting a large piece of wood on the road, losing control and hitting his head. The incident took place at around 5.17pm and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.48pm. The York County coroner’s office ruled his death an accident caused by multiple blunt force trauma.

Rymer, known by friends as “Poet” or “Uncle Dad,” owned Battlefield Leather in Straban Township and operated Calvary Graphics and Drop Dead Thread. He was also a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his death, tributes poured in on social media from members of his community, expressing gratitude for his service and mourning his loss.
