Trader Joe’s is expanding its line of fruit snacks with the debut of new freeze-dried raspberries.

Trader Joe’s freeze-dried raspberries are made by taking ripe raspberries, freezing them and then lowering the atmospheric pressure around the fruit to near-vacuum levels. The berries are then heated, allowing the frozen water in the berries to evaporate. The result is a dried raspberry that still contains the super sweet and tart flavor, but without the liquid. This makes the freeze-dried raspberries the perfect addition to a variety of snacks and meals, including trail mix, a bowl of creamy yogurt or mixed into brownie batter.

Trader Joe’s new unsweetened and unchecked freeze-dried raspberries are now available in 1.2-ounce bags at retailers nationwide.
