Federal Reserve Meeting: Live Updates

The Federal Reserve concludes its regular two-day meeting with a policy statement on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET, but no one expects the central bank to cut interest rates from a 23-year high. In any case, markets are preparing for a ‘higher-for-longer’ message from the Fed.

The central bank’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) left rates unchanged at its last meeting in March, and indications this time, including from the latest economic reports, point to more of the same, with inflation remaining stubborn and growth comes slower.
