Logistics service provider wins five-year contract with fashion brand

Lyle & Scott, an apparel and fashion brand, has selected Davies Turner Logistics to manage third-party warehousing and last mile logistics and distribution services in the UK over the next five years.

This agreement coincides with the opening of Davies Turner’s newest logistics center in Atherstone, based in the Midlands.

This building is the seventh custom-built 3PL facility in the UK and will now manage Lyle & Scott’s warehousing and ordering needs in the UK.

The newly established facility covers 13,000 m² and is completely tailor-made. It features a fully fitted high cupboard space, along with four 35,000 sq ft mezzanine floors.

The contract with Lyle & Scott covers all aspects of their business, including retail and wholesale, online sales and additional services such as quality control and reverse logistics.

Emily Stephenson, managing director at Davies Turner Logistics said: “Davies Turner is known for offering retail brands a high degree of logistics service flexibility to support their multichannel operations, providing both the scalability and customization they need for their supply chains. We have built a dedicated team to work with Lyle & Scott to optimize inventory management and order fulfillment across the UK supply chain, helping the company deliver on its promises to customers. We look forward to building a mutually beneficial relationship with the company.”

Andrew Stellakis, IT and operations director at Lyle & Scott, said: “Lyle & Scott was founded in 1874 with the ambition to create high-quality knitted garments, focusing on the importance of quality and craftsmanship. During a highly competitive tender process, it became clear that these principles underpin Davies Turner’s logistics activities since its inception four years before Lyle & Scott.

“We were particularly impressed with the visibility that Davies Turner provides across the supply chain, allowing inventory to be moved from one channel to another and supplying all Lyle & Scott points of sale. Our willingness to sign a five-year contract is a clear demonstration of Lyle & Scott’s confidence in Davies Turner Logistics’ ability to meet our challenging logistics fulfillment and distribution requirements in the UK.”
