Bradley Walsh lets slip huge secret about ITV The Chase as he admits he loves winding stars up

The Chase host Bradley Walsh has been spilling the beans and letting slip some backstage secrets about the ITV show.

The iconic gameshow’s host admits he loves “winding up” the Chasers during filming, saying “a bit of self-deprecating humor never hurt anybody,” but also reveals a huge secret about the brainy quizzers’ comebacks.

Bradley discusses “precious presenters” and the new series of Beat The Chasers as well as letting some secret slip. This time around, a fresh batch of brave – or perhaps reckless – celebrities will be testing their general knowledge against the notorious Chasers in hopes of winning big for charity.

The celebrities taking on the challenge this time include restaurant critic and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Grace Dent, BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt, former footballer David James, designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and former Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati.

They’ll each have to face off against all the Chasers Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Shaun Wallace, and Darragh Ennis. As always, it’s host Bradley Walsh who will be keeping an eye on the quiz and observing how the stars cope when matched against some of the sharpest minds on TV.

Despite the high-stakes atmosphere, Bradley makes sure to keep things light by teasing the Chasers on screen whenever he can. “I love winding them all up,” he admits. “The one I have most fun with is Shaun, the Dark Destroyer. It’s because we both love our football. We’re exactly the same age well, he’s two days older than me.I just adore him.”.

However, it seems the banter between Bradley and the Chasers isn’t always natural and organic, with The Chase host revealing the clever Chasers get a bit of help with their savage jibes. Admitting the witty comebacks from the Chasers are one of the highlights for him on The Chase, Bradley explains to OK! magazine: “They sort of have pops at me, but a bit of self-deprecating humor never hurt anybody.”
