Afghanistan Futsal National team arrives in Tehran after World Cup qualifying

The football federation announced that the Afghan national futsal team has arrived in Tehran after qualifying for the World Cup.

The federation reports in a newsletter that the national indoor football team traveled to Tehran on Tuesday, April 30, and was warmly received by Afghan immigrants in Iran.

The federation said: “The national futsal team has made history by qualifying for the Futsal World Cup for the first time.”

Meanwhile, Iranian media have reported that 13 players from the Afghan national team have traveled to Iran after the Asian Cup.

Iranian news media stated that nine players from the Afghan national team, along with their coach, arrived in Tehran, and four other players, along with Majid Mortazavi, the Afghan head coach, flew directly to Mashhad, Iran.

Immigrant sports authorities in Tehran have said the rest of the players have gone to Kabul. The football federation has not yet responded to this issue.
