Vilsack says agriculture has a role to play when it comes to sustainable aviation fuel

The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture says updates to a model that measures the carbon footprint of sustainable jet fuel should enable U.S. agriculture to participate in the sustainable jet fuel market.

Secretary Tom Vilsack says the updated Greenhouse Gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy Use in Technologies, or GREET, model alone may not be enough to allow renewable fuel producers to qualify for a new tax credit, but the use of climate-smart agricultural practices could help.
