KARACHI/ISLAMABAD/LAHORE, April 30: Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, reaffirmed the party’s founding vision – Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan, on International Labor Day, believing that the prosperity of Pakistan is intertwined with the well-being and dignity of its workforce.

According to the media cell Bilawal House press release, Chairman PPP paid tribute to the martyrs of Chicago in a message on International Labor Day. He also paid glowing tributes to Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for his pioneering efforts in enshrining labor rights through the first-ever labor policy in 1972, laying the foundation for equitable representation and empowerment.

He emphasized that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as Prime Minister restored trade union rights that had been wrongly taken away from workers by a dictator. “Shaheed Bibi has worked tirelessly to expand employment opportunities for the underprivileged, promoting employment growth even during her short tenure in government,” he noted. Reflecting on President Asif Ali Zardari’s previous tenure, he proudly recalled the launch of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and the Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme (BESOS), a testament to the party’s continued commitment to economic prosperity and promote opportunities for all.

Among the strides made by the PPP, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari commended his party’s governments in Sindh for leading initiatives such as labor policy, Benazir Mazdoor Card scheme and building flats for workers. “The PPP continues its commitment to uplift the working class through programs like the ‘Benazir Mazdoor Card’ and ‘Benazir Kisan Card’ in Sindh and Balochistan, demonstrating its commitment to empowerment,” he affirmed.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari acknowledged the ongoing challenges faced by the working class in Pakistan, which are often ignored by other political groups. He invited the hardworking people to join the PPP, a bulwark of hope and determination, committed to supporting their cause and protecting their rights.

Looking ahead, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pledged to implement major legislative reforms that would strengthen the PPP’s commitment as a strong supporter and protector of the working class. He pledged to stand against exploitation and remain a source of hope and unity for hardworking individuals, who are the foundation of both the party and society.
