Humphrey’s County looking for escaped convict

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — Officers in Humphrey’s County are searching for an incarcerated man who ran away from a work unit near the CVS Pharmacy in Waverly, Tennessee.

Michael Ayres is currently in custody on charges of possession, vandalism and violation of probation, according to Humphrey’s County Sheriff’s Office.

He is believed to be wearing blue trousers and a white T-shirt, but he may have been able to change clothes recently.

Officers do not believe Ayres poses a danger to the public, but are asking people to remain vigilant and use caution if they see him.

The sheriff’s office posted on their Facebook page Monday evening that a cash reward is being offered for Ayers’ immediate arrest within the next 48 hours.
