Box Office: ‘Ghostbusters Frozen Empire’ Finally Hits $100 Million, ‘Civil War’ Fades, ‘Ministry’ Misses

The weekend box office wasn’t very exciting, unless losing weight was your preference.

After five weeks, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” finally reached $100 million. It’s been a slog. ‘Frozen Empire’ is $15 million behind ‘Ghostbusters Afterlife’. It already has a crest and is on its way out, but at least they can say they’re part of the club.

That’s good news for Sony, since they apparently lost out on the new Quentin Tarantino film. The touring director just doesn’t want to do it after a mountain of hype and expectations. That must be a downer for Sony. Maybe Spider-Man is coming.

“Civil War” topped the movie list this week, earning a whopping $11 million.

Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ earned $9 million on its way to a mediocre run. I think the marketing was just, “This is an action movie. go see it.” Otherwise I have no idea. And $9 million in 2,845 theaters suggests no one else does either.
