Office of the Ombudsman Announces Jobs for Kenyans, Some with a Minimum Requirement of Grade D in KCSE

Nairobi – The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) has announced several vacancies asking interested Kenyans to apply.

In an advertisement on Tuesday, April 30, the commission, a constitutional committee, said it wanted to recruit five people in different departments.

“The Commission is also charged with overseeing and enforcing the implementation of the Access to Information Act, 2016. The Commission seeks to fill the following positions,” the advertisement on TUKO.co.ke said.

The committee aims to recruit Senior Compliance Officer, Planning and Strategy Officer, Investigations Officer, Administrative Officer and Driver, all on permanent and pensionable terms.

The minimum qualifications vary depending on the job group, with some only requiring a grade D in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

For administrative officers, Kenyans with KCSE grade means C- (minus) or equivalent qualification; A Certificate in Business Administration of not less than 6 months from a recognized institution is encouraged to apply.

For the position of director, the KCSE average grade of D or equivalent is the minimum qualification requirement.

Candidates for the position of driver must also possess a valid driving license of class BCE, free of any endorsement; First Aid Certificate and Certificate of Good Conduct course.

Interested Kenyans have been asked to visit the commission’s website; www.ombudsman.go.ke for job specification and other requirements.

Qualified and interested candidates have been asked to send their hard copy of their application letters to the given address before May 14, 2024 at 5:00 PM.

“All interested candidates who meet the job description for this position are encouraged to send a hard copy of their application letter, curriculum vitae and copies of their academic and professional certificates along with a clear national identity card by 5:00 PM on May 14, 2024 to the postal address below,” the committee said.
