The Peshawar High Court suspends ECP’s summons to Gandapur in the Assets case

PESHAWAR: A two-judge bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), comprising Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice SM Attiq Shah, has dismissed the suo moto notice of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the assets case of Prime Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur suspended, locally The media reported this on Tuesday.

The court has also issued a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan seeking a response on issuing a summons to Prime Minister KP for clarification on his statements in recent years regarding assets.

The petitioner’s lawyer argued that it was no longer the jurisdiction of the Election Commission of Pakistan to request the details of assets for the past year, saying all details were available on the ECP’s website.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan had issued a notice to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister to appear before the commission on April 30 and also provide details of his assets last year.
