Exceptional performance with an 85.48% pass rate

The Class 12 results of the science, commerce and arts stream examination conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) were declared on Tuesday with 85.48 percent of students passing the test.

JAC chairman Anil Mahto announced the results in the presence of state school education and literacy department secretary Uma Shankar Singh.

Mahto said 72.70 percent of students in science, 90.60 percent in commerce and the highest 93.16 percent of students in arts passed the exam.

However, results fell by approximately three percent from the previous year. In 2023, the total results in all three streams amounted to 88.67 percent in 2023.

Girls have performed better in two areas: arts and commerce, while boys have outperformed girls in science by a negligible margin. The pass percentage of girls in arts and commerce was 94.22 percent and 93.46 percent respectively, compared to boys whose pass percentage was 91.68 percent and 88.40 percent respectively.

In the Science stream, 72.72 percent of boys cleared the exam, compared to 72.67 percent of girls.

”In the science stream, the results of physics and chemistry were not satisfactory. We need to work on these issues to improve outcomes in the future,” Singh said.

Talking about the overall decline in results, he said when the pattern changes, it is also reflected in the results. ”A slight decline of three percent over the previous year as the exams were not conducted in OMR forms this time,” he said.
