Pedestrian seriously injured in Kansas City crash

A pedestrian was injured after a collision in Kansas City on Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the crash around 10:49 a.m. near Linwood Boulevard and Olive Street, where a pedestrian was struck while crossing the street, said Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department.

The pedestrian was struck by a gray Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Linwood. They were taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

The Toyota left the scene of the collision. Police found the vehicle and driver a short time later in the 4000 block of Woodland Avenue.

Police say the pedestrian is in serious but stable condition.
