Russia has captured the village of Semenivka, located near Avdiivka, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

Semenivka is located south of Novobakhmutivka, near Ocheretyne, which was invaded last week and where fighting intensified, leading to renewed territorial gains for Russia.

This comes after Russian forces took control of the village of Novobakhmutivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on Sunday, eliminating up to 380 Ukrainian soldiers and one tank in the area.

Russian forces continue to advance towards eastern Ukraine and western Donetsk since the victory in Avdiivka and amid the deteriorating condition of the Ukrainian frontlines.

Attacks by Russian forces on hotels in Mykolaiv (Nikolaev), known for housing foreign fighters hired by Ukraine, killed 14 mercenaries and wounded another eight on Sunday, Sputnik reported, citing a source on the ground.

According to Sergei Lebedev, “The eight injured were hospitalized… They are being housed separately from the others. Two are in a serious condition and six have been stabilized.”

Lebedev pointed out that the Riviera and Helen hotels, where English-speaking foreigners stay, are guarded by the Ukrainian armed forces.

Russian forces have also reported that American and Canadian citizens have arrived in the city on the Black Sea coast. Sputnik noted.

The source revealed that foreign instructors had trained Ukrainian marines at a local shipyard to conduct naval sabotage operations.

About a hundred Ukrainian paramilitary fighters from the Azov Battalion recently arrived at the shipyard, which is also used to assemble underwater drones, he pointed out.
