Potential for significant snowfall by mid-week in the Airdrie – Cochrane – Olds – Sundre area, says Environment Canada

COCHRANE – Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the Airdrie – Cochrane – Olds – Sundre area Monday morning.

There is a chance of significant snowfall by midweek, the federal agency says.

Snow is expected to fall from Tuesday evening and continue until Wednesday.

“Total amounts between 10 and 25 (centimeters) are possible Thursday morning, with the highest amounts falling west of Highway 2 over higher terrain. The snow will be heavy and wet and may be mixed with rain in some areas, so snowfall totals amounts will vary widely,” said the statement, issued at 5:10 a.m. on April 29.
