Love triangle, murder and confession: Delhi man stabs friend to death, then calls the police

A 33-year-old mechanic, Zahid, was fatally stabbed at his rental home in northwest Delhi on Sunday, allegedly by a suspect identified as Ravi. Police plan to question Ravi and the woman involved in the incident once Ravi is discharged from hospital as investigations into the case continue.

Delhi: A 33-year-old mechanic named Zahid was stabbed to death in his rented home in the Mahindra Park area in northwest Delhi, where police said Sunday. The suspect, identified as Ravi, knew Zahid, and their disagreement reportedly revolved around a woman. Police were informed about the stabbing incident around 4.30 pm through a PCR call received at Mahindra Park police station.

Zahid and Ravi were both known to a woman who was present in the house during the altercation, an officer revealed. An argument broke out between Zahid and Ravi when Zahid saw the woman with Ravi at his residence. The altercation turned violent, resulting in Zahid being fatally stabbed by Ravi, as stated by a senior police officer.

After the altercation, Ravi, who also suffered injuries during the scuffle, himself informed the police about the incident. Zahid, described as a paper cutting machine mechanic, succumbed to his injuries while Ravi is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

Police have said they plan to question Ravi and the woman involved in the incident once Ravi is released from hospital. The investigation into the tragic event continues as authorities attempt to determine the circumstances surrounding Zahid’s untimely death.

In related news, a few days ago, a woman in her 30s was fatally shot at her home in northwest Delhi on Friday, allegedly by a 17-year-old boy. Police suspect the motive was the woman’s opposition to the suspect’s relationship with her daughter. The woman suffered two gunshot wounds to her chest and died on arrival at BJRM Hospital. The boy, accompanied by two other minors, is on the run. The victim’s daughter had already run away with the suspect several times. An FIR has been filed under various IPC sections.
