Family reacts to omission from Pope’s funeral posters

The family of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope has reacted to rumors doing the rounds on social media following the omission of the description of the ‘husband’ from the late actor’s funeral poster.

It would be recalled that the family recently announced the funeral arrangements for the late actor, with his burial scheduled for May 17, 2024 at his hometown in Enugu State.

However, many Nigerians have noted that the obituary did not include the term “husband,” sparking speculation.

Meanwhile, before his death, Junior Pope was married to Jennifer Awele, and they have three sons; although speculations surfaced about their divorce.

In response to the viral funeral posters, Junior’s family made it clear on Instagram that they had not given permission for this. They recognized the need for corrections to the poster and asked the public for help in removing the viral funeral posters.

The statement reads; “Dear Junior Pope fans, I wanted to bring to your attention that the current poster of our late brother Junior Pope needs some corrections.

“The family has asked for your help to take it down. They said the revised version will be out soon. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
