The Oyo State Government has said the victory of all PDP candidates in the LG elections was predictable.

In a statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, after the announcement of the results, Governor Seyi Makinde’s excellent performance in the past five years was the main reason why the election turned out to be one-sided.

The commissioner also attributed the election results to the quality of candidates presented by the ruling party.

“This is a glowing tribute to the governor and his administration as this is the last election under his watch until 2027 when he and the newly elected LG chairmen and councilors will end their terms.”

The Information Commissioner noted that surprisingly, the opposition party started rehearsing its complaints yesterday morning barely 30 minutes before the start of the elections.

He instructed them to behave like athletes and stop mixing fantasy with democracy.

The Commissioner commended the commitments of the security team, the OYSIEC Chairman and his team for daring to make a difference after the challenges of the past two local government elections.
