The Bauchi government applauds Justice Tsanmani for ruling PEPT against PDP and others

Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has described the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) in the 2023 general elections as one of the most landmark judgments ever delivered in the country.

The Governor said this on Saturday at a reception organized in honor of Justice Haruna Tsanmani, Chairman of the Tribunal and recently elevated to the Apex Court of the country.

Bala Mohammed, who was the special guest of honour, said: “Although the judgment was against my political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), it remains a historic judgment delivered based on the facts before the panel of judges.”

The governor added: “Judge Haruna Tsanmani is one of the best we have here. He is a humble, gentle and honest person, virtues he has shown in all the places he has served before reaching this height. He is a man to be celebrated.

“I never tried to approach him as a brother during the pendency of the case because he is not even approachable. He stood for steadfastness and justice as expressed in the verdict.

“When he pronounced the sentence, I saw that intelligence and experience played a role. He exudes incorruption, honesty and responsibility in the fulfillment of his professional calling.”

The governor then said: “Judge Haruna Tsammani remains a symbol of justice and an inspiration for his unwavering commitment to peaceful activism and his fight for equality and social justice across the Nigerian legal system.”

Bala Mohammed also pledged to continue working with relevant parties to improve the justice system and ensure a speedy resolution of the case.

According to him, the Nigerian legal system and Bauchi State are extremely proud of the legacy of Justice Haruna Tsammani in the legal system, who chronicles his history both within the state and across the country as an astute, knowledgeable, experienced and incorruptible judge whose career was marked by an unwavering dedication and commitment to advancing society.

In his remarks, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for his futile support and the good works he has shown for the growth and transformation of Bauchi State, including infrastructural developments, unity and peaceful coexistence of the people of the state. .

He further thanked everyone who attended the event and prayed for Journey’s grace.

Several prominent personalities at the meeting congratulated Justice Haruna Tsammani on his remarkable elevation and prayed for his protection.
