X user shares photo of late night crowd not outside pub but at Carnatic cafe in Gurugram; Netizens: “Bengaluru-style dosas are in”

It’s not just pubs that welcome late night crowds in India. Restaurants that celebrate regional cuisines do the same. In Bengaluru, a snaking crowd was seen outside the shops of The Rameswaram Cafe at noon. There’s nothing like satisfying late night hunger with ghelicious dosas and podi idlis. It seems even Gurugram has a fan base for South Indian food. A recent post on X gives a glimpse of the nighttime bustle outside Carnatic Cafe in Gurugram. There’s more going on here.

Carnatic Cafe In Gurugram sees night time crowds

X user Gabbar Singh (@GabbbarSingh) shared a photo of large crowds at the entrance of Carnatic Cafe in Gurugram. The photo shows people waiting for a seat in the beautifully lit South Indian restaurant in the middle of the night. In the caption, @GabbbarSingh mentions that the crowd was not for the entry of a pub but rather for a restaurant serving South Indian food in Gurugram.

He further mentions that Carnatic Cafe serves Rameshwaram cafe style soft dosas, with ghee and other delicacies. Plus, he said the fandom was going crazy. @GabbbarSingh notes that North India traditionally served Tamil Nadu style Masala Dosas. A dish that residents always enjoyed on special occasions. He remembered taking his friends for his dosas on his birthday.

They were paper thin paper dosas served with non-sweet sambar and coconut chutney. Suddenly, the market has opened up for Bengaluru-style dosas. These are golden brown dosas, crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside. Prepared with a lot of ghee. Often served with sweet sambar. @GabbbarSingh is impressed with the market that has opened up for Bengaluru-style dosas.
