KDF responds after soldiers are filmed attacking a police officer in Likoni: “Very regrettable”

Mombasa – The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) has issued a statement following an altercation between its soldiers and police officers in Likoni, Mombasa Province.

On Saturday, April 27, KDF soldiers were captured on camera physically assaulting police officers.

In a statement, KDF said military police and other investigative bodies are investigating the incident to determine what led to the ugly confrontation.

“Tonight, KDF soldiers at the Likoni ferry were involved in a scuffle that was spread on various social media. To determine the circumstances leading to the incident, the military police and the necessary investigative bodies are currently investigating the case,” KDF said.

KDF stated that the incidents were deeply regrettable and emphasized that the force was bound by the core value of professionalism.
