Man charged with killing 74-year-old woman at senior apartments in W. Houston

HOUSTON – A 66-year-old man has been arrested, accused of shooting and killing a 74-year-old woman at a senior apartment complex in West Houston.

Clifton John Allen, 66, is charged with murder in connection with the death of Carol Webber, 74.

Webber was found dead April 13 in her apartment at the Treemont Senior Living Center at 2501 Westerland Drive.

Houston Police Department officers responded to the complex and found Webber unconscious on the floor of her apartment. She was pronounced dead by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined that Webber suffered a gunshot wound.

During the investigation, authorities were able to identify Allen as a suspect in the case. HPD says Allen and Webber were previously involved in a dating relationship.

Allen was taken into custody on Friday and has since been charged with murder.
