AFKLM Martinair Cargo transports two lions to South Africa

Lions Vasylyna and Nikola embarked on an important journey on April 25, boarding a Martinair Cargo 747 freighter bound for South Africa.

“The remarkable flight marks a new chapter in the lives of these majestic creatures who are now on their way from Felida, the specialist big cat sanctuary run by animal welfare charity Four Paws in Friesland, the Netherlands, to LionsRock, a sprawling 1,250 hectare area. refuge managed by the same organization in South Africa,” said an official press release from Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.

Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has a dedicated animal hotel at its KLM Cargo facilities at Schiphol and expert staff who monitor animal welfare throughout the journey, the release said.
